Thanks, folks...(and probably a few bots as well)...

Sweet Freedom the blog passed 1 million views sometime this morning.

There was a time, fairly recently, where this news would make my day if not my week, but less welcome things keep piling on over the last several years...but I still thank you, and am glad anyone finds some value or interest in what's here.

Then again, there are dangers in boasting...I mentioned SF was approaching a million hits, and someone I was speaking with said, Oh, this week?

Well, no...not the kind of site that gets a million per year, much less per week. But, even given the somewhat self-revealing inaccuracy of Blogspot/Google analytics, it seems at least a mild milestone for a blog from someone who does so little with it, and not all that much elsewhere.

Thanks again.

Congrats on the milestone!

Thanks! Your blog, with its daily influx of new, interesting and often valuable material, is the kind of blog which should be racking up at least 10M hits per year...and thank goodness at least some fraction of that do check in.

I think that's damned exciting! Congratulations! I can always count on eurodyte thought and analysis along with considered opinion when I come to this blog. With so much of the internet, blogs included, full of fluff and foolishness, that's refreshing. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Richard. I see you might be finding life less cooperative to your fine blogging as well, but I'm glad you, too, keep at it...more music posting, sir...I'm always happy to see those, even as I'm happy to see your others.

Congratulations Todd! I read your blog often and I'm always interested in your comments on the fiction magazines. Sweet Freedom is one of my favorites.

Thanks, Walker...and for your comments and posts on Steve Lewis's blog as well.

COngrats, Todd. You do a great job of keeping the fires burning.

Thanks, Patti...you, too, given at least as great challenges...I certainly hope you've long since passed a million hits. Meanwhile, when I look at too much first-draft prose in my entries, the thought of a little judicious burning seems only sensible...

Let me add my congrats, Todd!

Your blog is always a delight and chock full of insights and discoveries. May your typing fingers never tire!

Thank you, Jerry... and I can only say Back at you. Even when my wrist was still broken, I was typing, so clearly the dharma is strong...

Well done! Great content! Thanks for making it available and please keep those posts coming. They say the first million is the hardest :-)

Great news, Todd. But not surprising. Good blog, good posts, and good to know so many people visiting.

Thanks, Richard and Elgin...I'm glad that you've been able to publish such an engaging magazine, Richard, and that you've been doing a fine blog, Elgin...I hope you both keep them going.

Things are a bit busier on my blog than they were in the first year or so, but I have to wonder where BlogSpot or even Google might be in the time it takes to gather another million hits...

Congrats on the first million, Todd! Here's to the second - and we'll follow along, enjoying every post.

Too kind, Bonnie! I suspect your excellent blog has seen at least its second million already...

Well done!

Thanks, Kelly! I need to look at your blogs some more...as I try to find the wherewithal to finally do Tuesday's A/V again...it's been almost ridiculous, the set of things which keep happening.

Congratulations, Todd, and here's to many more! I feel like an alien on your blog considering I know so little of sf and fantasy, but I'm always delighted to read your informed posts and marvel at the covers of early and vintage books that you feature here. Hope to be more regular in future.
