(Three Cases of Murder, The Last Wave, Hotel.)

The only one I'd quibble with is Night of the Eagle; it's good, but not as good as I wanted it to be, given the quality of the source novel & its reputation as a Lewtonequse movie.Pearcehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04585713305682813718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8525415828746712027.post-77118137596180846692010-05-05T13:23:54.679-04:002010-05-05T13:23:54.679-04:00There's a PAL Region 2 edition available, with...There's a PAL Region 2 edition available, with a rather unspectacular reproduction of what I take to be one of the original UK posters...TM linking to the case imagehttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B0019D7AHI/sr=8-1/qid=1273080042/ref=dp_image_text_0?ie=UTF8&n=130&s=dvd&qid=1273080042&sr=8-1noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8525415828746712027.post-83542285430841341592010-05-05T12:25:16.439-04:002010-05-05T12:25:16.439-04:00And I love love love CONJURE WIFE, so I'd like...And I love love love CONJURE WIFE, so I'd like to see it, but I don't think it's available yet on DVD (though apparently it is on YouTube in pieces). Sad, really. (Said puff piece also pushed the US remake of FUNNY GAMES, which is definitely a pernicious waste of time.)

There are any number of films I really need to see the entirety of, that I've seen only bits and/or pieces of (PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK comes to mind), and some no doubt utterly impressive films I've missed altogether (though not usually for lack of trying).

Kate--I suspect your Anglophilia will allow you to enjoy both THREE CASES and NIGHT OF THE EAGLE enormously, although both are (at least in part) from US literary sources...the latter Charles Beaumont's script from Fritz Leiber's novel CONJURE WIFE.Todd Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01815516018079824802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8525415828746712027.post-15306103945907017892010-05-05T08:42:59.564-04:002010-05-05T08:42:59.564-04:00I've only seen a few of these.I've only seen a few of these.pattinase (abbott)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02916037185235335846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8525415828746712027.post-66967163859480570362010-05-05T07:02:43.680-04:002010-05-05T07:02:43.680-04:00I hang my head in shame that I haven't yet see...I hang my head in shame that I haven't yet seen all of them and not just because of recent release (Martyrs) because I haven't seen Three Cases of Murder or Burn, Witch, Burn.C.
