All three were published in THE TWILIGHT ZONE SCRIPTS OF JERRY SOHL, edited by Christopher Conlon. Two additional scripts, "Pattern for Doomsday" and "Who Am I?," were scheduled to be produced under Beaumont's byline when they were cancelled by Wiliam Froug, who replaced Bert Granet as the show's producer in the fifth and final season. Those were published in his posthumous collection FILET OF SOHL, also edited by Conlon; both books were published by BearManor Media. Froug similarly cancelled Matheson's "The Doll," which decades later ended up as an Emmy Award-winning episode of AMAZING STORIES.Matthew Bradleyhttp://bradleyonfilm.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8525415828746712027.post-91499795872883725622011-01-10T10:19:11.815-05:002011-01-10T10:19:11.815-05:00And it's no oversight on your part that you ha...And it's no oversight on your part that you haven't seen the episode yet...it hasn't been broadcast, nor will it be till the 18th of January. A small correction: although such Bradbury pals as Matheson, Beaumont, George Clayton Johnson and (pseudonymously under an ailing Beaumont's byline) Jerry Sohl wrote for the series, Nolan's one TWILIGHT ZONE script, "Dreamfight," was never produced. I suppose I should be grateful they even mentioned Matheson, considering how many superficial TWILIGHT ZONE surveys give people the impression that, say, "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" was written by Serling instead. Peter Graves and Angela Cartwright interviewed here, too, and the fact of somewhat controversial sociological topics broached in these series (at least GUNSMOKE and to some extent the Sam Peckinpah season of THE RIFLEMAN and in BONANZA), sometimes years before STAR TREK or even THE TWILIGHT ZONE hit the air, doesn't seem quite to have registered when making the final script revisions for episode 201.Todd Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01815516018079824802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8525415828746712027.post-74773668005351266412011-01-07T20:03:06.882-05:002011-01-07T20:03:06.882-05:00If they're in any sort of good condition, I wo...If they're in any sort of good condition, I would definitely have them appraised. Kurtzman was a genius for whom nothing was ever good enough...one of the things that drives geniuses, and frustrates them.<br /><br />While PIONEERS OF TELEVISION pioneers nothing, at least their episode on, say, late night chat shows in the first season touched on nearly all the right bases, briefly citing the likes of THE JOEY BISHOP SHOW, and dealing in detail with Merv Griffin and Dick Cavett's challenge to the TONIGHT SHOW hegemony.
