This week's books and more, unfairly (or sometimes fairly) neglected, or simply those the reviewers below think you might find of some interest (or, infrequently, you should be warned away from); certainly, most weeks we have a few not at all forgotten titles...if I've missed your review or someone else's, please let me know in comments.
Hammett's early story "Arson Plus" gets some supplementary attention this week...watch for the asterisks***.
Terribly sorry for the delay in posting...a bad and busy week didn't let up on Friday morning. Todd Mason

Thanks, Todd! Are you attending the Nostalgia Con next weekend?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jack! I wasn't aware of NostalgiaCon, so should Go Look It Up...but suspect not, as I will be removing spam comments from "Darcy/Darci" repeatedly, apparently...
ReplyDeleteWell, as it's across the continent, I can firmly say No...I see a somehow linked event is in Philadelphia in mid-September...I might miss that as well, if it's a typical media autograph-fest. I've managed to miss PhilCons that these years happen a mile away from me...and have caught only two NoirCons...
ReplyDeleteThe Nostalgia Con is in Maryland, so not that far!
ReplyDeleteAh! I didn't find that one online...gave up after the LA item with that name this weekend.
ReplyDeleteGood thing I didn't try, since our bank, TD Bank, was busy putting holds on credit and bank cards if they engaged in such "suspicious activity" as using the cards in the pump readers at gas stations, apparently beginning on Friday. Would've been fun trying to buy a membership or a hotel room lease on arrival. (Hint: Don't use TD Bank.)
