Some great selections here. Thanks for reminding me about the Ray Charles and Betty Carter date, and I had no idea Lola Albright could sing.

Jim--yeah, thanks...and again for noting the Connor side. Albright recoded a couple of albums with a Mancini orchestra as a result of PETER GUNN...don't know how many of Shorty Rogers's Giants played on those dates.
Charlie--she's an old favorite of mine, and a discussion of her career on today's NEVER NOT FUNNY had me looking at some clips, including this one.
That's far from the best by Chris Conner, I think. I wonder how well that album sold, in comparison to her earlier ones? For some reason I was under the impression that Albright was lip-syncing on the show and another singer did the actual singing. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else. That clip made me want to watch the Gunn programs again.
I know you're not the biggest Ornette Coleman fan, Rick, but I do love what Connor does with the song version. Yeah, I double-checked before attributing the reading to Albright...apparently it was her...it is rather sad how little high-profile work most of the GUNN cast got later. I'm not sure you've met Shorty?
