Those are excellent stats, Todd. I have noticed that personalised posts, not strictly book or film reviews, garner more pageviews and comments. I guess it's because they resonate with people. I have noticed this trend on Fb too.
People can usually find other sources for reviews of popular materials. I'm still not quite certain what drove the popularity of a cake-roll post. But most of my more popular items so far have been this that have dealt with the important or influential, or at least good, work that still hasn't been getting as much attention as it might.
I have very little sense if these tallies are high or low compared to those of other blogs. I do know that they probably aren't quite accurate, as Blogspot offers somewhat different page-view figures elsewhere...why the host site can't agree with itself is a question.
Thanks for your comment, Prashant. You've done some interesting things on your blog, and FB pages.
For a rather extreme example, the KCET post has a hit tally of 5595 at the other pageview counter Blogspot provides. The package cakes tally there is 7873. Barry's NEW AMERICAN REVIEW piece is reported at 1762.
Todd, thanks for your kind words. I went through some of my earlier posts and found that articles relating to lists, like "top" this, that and the other, have garnered maximum pageviews. I'm not surprised as I like going through such lists myself. I wonder if Blogspot's pageviews are the same as genuine visitors, not counting our own visits. Google Analytics gives a fair idea but I'm pretty confused how it works.
Well, Prashant, I certainly didn't visit the KCET post myself thousands of times. The smaller totals might be "unique" views--the first time any IP address visited the post--and the larger total all recorded hits, including repeats. Still, spelling that out somewhere would be useful.
