Thought you were going to throw mine in. There was a lot of speculation about O'Day's performance at Newport (Jazz on a Summer's Day), specifically that she was stoned on H. I've loved that performance since I first saw it on the film, when broadcast on PBS many years ago.

Lots to listen to here, will take time.

Yes, I believe Anita O'Day eventually confirmed being stoned to some extent, though the kind of ridiculous heels she was wearing might've been difficult to navigate even on the second strong drink. The price of glamor...and the sad susceptibility of musicians, and particularly jazz musicians, to heroin at midcentury was probably the greatest single scourge they faced.

And at least Carmell Jones's BUSINESS MEETING is back in print...though I don't know if the Mosaic will be coming back soon.
