Saturday Music Club: very commercial music

The Neptunas "Chicken of the Sea"

The T-Bones "No Matter What Shape Your Stomach's In"

from 1960s/70s cult midwestern US tv sketch series Beyond Our Control: "The Teaberry Shuffle"

The American Breed  "Bend Me, Shape Me"

The Zombies "Come On Time" (a better version has been offered on complete-recordings sets--somewhat inadvisedly, the trailer here essentially eliminates the instrumental track from "Just Out of Reach" the radio edit used)

The Zombies "Just Out of Reach"

Ajax Ad: Stronger than Dirt

The Mummies "Stronger than Dirt"

The Neptunas "Hot Wheels"

I'm sure you've seen "Bunny Lake Is Missing," which uses "Just out of Reach" to some effect. Then there's the end of the Door's "Touch Me," where Morrison sings, "Strong-er-than-dirt" with the song's last four notes.

Yup (and thanks for commenting!)...Morrison's hatred of and desired to sabotage "Touch Me" was mentioned in the YT comments on the Ajax ad. And, oddly enough, given the subject matter of Bunny Lake is Missing, the Zombies are also heard and seen performing "She's Not There"...some day, I should make a double feature for myself of Bunny and Catch Us if You Can...and/or, or course, Blow-up with the Yardbirds...but even if I add Help!, I'll spare myself One Plus One/Sympathy for the Devil(maybe the Python parody of that one).
